Climate Background Briefs for Asia and Africa

Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Government of Australia: 2023 - 2024

Adapt40 worked with the Australian Department for Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) to develop climate briefs for countries in Asia including Myanmar, Afghanistan, Philippines and Nepal. The team also delivered regional climate briefs for South East Asia (including Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, Indonesia and Myanmar), South Asia (including Bhutan, India, Maldives, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Nepal) and for Africa. The climate briefs are intended for use by DFAT's country posts for the production of their Development Partnership Plan (DPP) under Australia's International Development Policy 2023.

The high level climate briefs amalgamated climate risk research for each country and region, including outlining the key national/ regional climate issues experienced by partner countries and regions alongside sustainable development priorities and current programme profile. In addition to climate risk and adaptation the briefs covered climate mitigation and climate finance.
